Q&A with Florida RB Ciatrick Fason

Ciatrick Fason will watch the NFL Draft in his home in Jacksonville with some friends and family. His agent is Joe Segal. Here's what he had to say following his performance…

On his 40 time…

"I came out here and ran a good 40 time and a couple coaches told me that is definitely going to help me on the draft board."

On the gloomy weather…

"It took a while to get my legs and to get loose, and I wasn't fully loose till I ran my first 40. I got better as the individual workouts went on, but you can't always depend on the weather because sometimes you have to play in cold-weather situations and you got to be prepared to run and be the best person you can be."

On a couple passes getting away from him…

"It was tough dealing with a new quarterback, and I always say that not too many quarterbacks can get use to my speed. When Chris [Leak] first came in it was tough because a couple throws were thrown behind me then I had to adjust to all the passes. Other than that I did better in the other catching drill and caught every pass thrown behind me, over my head, whatever it took to get the scouts to like it, but they said that it really didn't matter if I caught the ball, it was more how run routes and they said I did that very well."

On what he does from here…

"I got a couple of individual workouts now and a workout here again next week. I heard I ran the 40 from 4.46, to 4.49 and a couple 4.5's. A lot of people said speed really doesn't matter, that I look better on film and like I weighed in at 209, people said I run like I'm 220 and at a 4.3, but when it's all said and done people know who they are going to draft in the end."

On where he's getting drafted…

"I heard from late first to early second, but they said after my workout today I might go up and hopefully I jump up. A lot of the top running back coaches in the NFL were here and in my individual workout I had a little crowd over there so I'm hoping that it helps me out."

On the importance of that workout…

"I was real nervous and I went to sleep, got up early this morning and went to Denny's all by myself. I've never eaten at a restaurant alone in my whole life, but I sat there for like an hour and a half, ate and then came over here and got a massage. I felt really good and I knew there was a lot of money on the line so my whole thing was to come out here and take it like a game situation and handle my business."

Fason didn't comment on what he ate at Denny's, but did mention that if he had to compare his workout game situation to a real game, it would undoubtedly be this year's Florida State.
