Prospect Profile: Walter Curry

Walter Curry School: Albany State
Ht: 6-3 Wt: 270 40: 4.91 Year: 5Sr

Bio: Four-year starter awarded All-Conference honors and named SIAC Defensive Player of the Year. Senior totals included 49/16.5/8.5 after 79/40/18 as a junior.

Positives: Incredibly productive defensive end who has feasted on a lower level of competition. Solid athlete who plays with a nasty attitude, displaying speed and power up the field. Fast off the edge, can change direction and makes plays defending the run, as well as rushing the passer.

Negatives: Benefits from the level of competition he plays at. Must develop more moves getting off blocks, as he consistently puts his head down and bulrushes up the field. Marginal size/speed numbers.

Analysis: An athletic player with potential as a pass rusher, Curry must refine his overall game and quickly get accustomed to the competition he'll face in the NFL. Presently fits as an eighth defensive lineman in a conventional scheme.
