Prospect Profile: CJ Brooks

C.J. Brooks School: Maryland
Ht: 6-5.5 Wt: 309 40: 5.18 Year: 5Sr

Bio: Four-year starter who's been an All- Conference pick the prior two seasons. Started at left tackle during his freshman campaign before being pushed inside to guard.

Positives: Athletic, wall-off blocker with good size and playing potential. Quickly gets off the snap, turns opponents off the line run blocking or anchors in pass protection. Patient, stays square and blocks with leverage. Works well with linemates. Solid position blocker who seals defenders from the action. Works his hands throughout the play. Big hand and powerful arm punch.

Negatives: Not explosive at the point run blocking. Slow picking up assignments. Marginal athlete.

Analysis: A consistent and durable player who has proven ability to be used at several positions, Brooks has been reliable in college. May not possess the speed to be used as blind side tackle, yet offers growth potential which should improve his already solid run blocking skills.
