Prospect Profile: Jon Doty

Jon Doty School: Kansas State
Ht: 6-7 Wt: 310 40: 5.28 Year: 5Sr

Bio: Two-year starter at offensive tackle who began his career as a tight end.

Positives: Tall, athletic blocker that does a good job in pass protection. Patient, displays the ability to slide laterally and a good position blocker. Sets with a wide base, immediately gets his hands up and works throughout the action. Effectively uses blocking angles and works to stay low. Jolts opponents with good hand punch and turns defenders from the action.

Negatives: Lacks the dominant base as well as run blocking strength. At times loses a sense of where he is on the field.

Analysis: A finesse blocker who does a solid job protecting the quarterback's blind side, Doty offers good upside potential for the next level. Already effective in pass protection, he must add bulk and strength to his frame to complete the package.
