Geoff McArthur School: California
Ht: 6-0 Wt: 198 40: 4.55 Year: 5Sr
Bio: Four-year starter and All-Conference selection
who led the team in receiving as a senior
posting 57/862/7. Junior totals included career
numbers of 85/1,504/10. Broke a fibula during
the final game of the regular season last year.
Also fractured his right tibula the prior season
preparing for the team's bowl game.
Productive and reliable pass catcher with natural
hands. Quick releasing off the line, sells routes
and gets separation. Stays low exiting breaks,
comes back to the ball and looks the pass in.
Quick transitioning from making the reception to
running after the catch. Extends to pluck the ball
out of the air and at the same time a solid body
catcher when necessary. Gets vertical to grab
the high throw, adjusts to the errant pass and
remains focused throughout the action. Uses
the sidelines well and a tough receiver who
goes up in a crowd to make the difficult catch.
Possesses soft hands.
Negatives: Gathers himself
into breaks and shows choppy footwork running
routes. Lacks the speed to get deep separation
and not large enough to qualify as a possession
Analysis: A reliable pass-catching
force throughout his college career, McArthur
consistently comes away with the reception.
Lacks top upside for the next level but a natural
football player who can effectively fill the role as
a productive fourth receiver.
