Prospect Profile: Chance Kretschmer

Chance Kretschmer School: Nevada
Ht: 5-11 Wt: 220 40: 4.72 Year: 5Sr

Bio: Four-year starter who posted 176/813/7 as a senior also adding 12/68 catching the ball. All-conference selection the previous season. Impacted the program as a freshman producing career numbers of 302/1,732/15.

Positives: Super tough ball handler with outstanding intangibles. Patient, sees the field and waits for blocks to develop. Possesses a burst through the hole and works to pick up positive yardage. Solid receiver out of the backfield. Picks up blocking assignments and gives good effort.

Negatives: Possesses marginal playing speed and cannot run to daylight. Not a ball carrier who can quickly cut back against the grain. Suffered a major knee injury in '02.

Analysis: A high motor running back who handled a lot of carries on the college level, Kretschmer is a straight-line runner who is limited by speed. His tenacity and football intelligence gives him a slight chance to make it as a team's fourth back.
