Prospect Profile: Frank Gore

Frank Gore School: Miami-Fl
Ht: 5-9.5 Wt: 212 40: 4.62 Year: 4Jr

Bio: Second team all-conference choice as a junior after posting 172/865/8 on the ground, adding 10/106 as a pass catcher. Recipient of the ACC's Brian Piccolo Award, given annually to the league's most courageous player. Suffered a season-ending knee injury five games into his sophomore campaign.

Positives: Well-built, elusive ball carrier with terrific football intangibles. Possesses outstanding field vision. Follows blocks, finds the running lanes and a quickfooted back who bounces it around piles or makes defenders miss. Quickly picks up blitzes and pass-blocking assignments.

Negatives: Suffered fumbling problems as a junior. Not a strong ball carrier who picks up a lot of yardage off initial contact. Did not seem as fast, instinctive or explosive last season coming off his second knee surgery.

Analysis: When healthy and at full speed, Gore is a ball carrier who can be a team's feature runner and three-down player. Possesses both the physical and mental makeup for the next level.
