Walter Washington School: Temple
Ht: 6-1 Wt: 235 40: 4.73 Year: 4Jr
Bio: All-Conference selection as a junior, leading
the team in passing posting 56.3%/2,207/10/6
as well as rushing with 222/889/15. Sophomore
totals included 1,265 yards passing with an
additional 579 yards on the ground in five starts.
Positives: Big, strong collegiate passer who may be
best carrying the ball at the next level. Quick
setting up in the pocket, displays a fluid delivery
and big arm. Zips the outs or drives the pass
downfield with speed. Bruising ball carrier who
puts his shoulders into defenders and doles out
punishment. Also has a slashing style and slips
off defenders to pick up positive yardage. Waits
for blocks to develop and picks his spots when
carrying the ball. Displays a burst of speed.
Does not go down easily.
Negatives: Wildly inaccurate
throwing the ball and misses open receivers.
Stares down targets from the get-go and does
not show a sense of timing. Rarely hits targets in
stride. Took most of his snaps out of the shotgun.
Analysis: While he made a poor choice entering
the draft early, Washington's options may have
been limited. That being the case, he is a project
at quarterback yet displays a lot of skill carrying
the ball. Unlikely to be draft, yet should be
scooped up as a free agent and given repetitions
at running back.
