Prospect Profile: Marcus Randall

Marcus Randall School: LSU
Ht: 6-1.5 Wt: 221 40: 4.59 Year: 5Sr

Bio: Moved back into the starting lineup as a senior completing 63%/1,269/9/6. Started six of eleven games as a sophomore and passed for 1,173 yards.

Positives: Nice-sized pocket passer with solid physical skills. Sets up with solid footwork, sells the ball fakes and throws with an over-the-top delivery, following through on passes. Possesses a quick release, zips the outs and places them well. Leads receivers over the middle, accurate in the short field and has the ability to make plays with his legs. Fast and beats defenders to the corners carrying the ball and runs with an aggressive style. Strong carrying the ball and breaks tackles, picking up yardage off initial contact.

Negatives: Does not correctly read defenses, forces the ball into coverage and makes poor decisions throwing the ball. Not patient and very quick to take off up the field.

Analysis: A passer that's consistently thrown for a high completion percentage, Randall offers a lot of physical skills for the quarterback position. Needs a lot more repetition and must improve his reads as well as decision making, yet a potential developmental prospect who possesses an upside.
