Scouting the Big 10: Indiana

Indiana starts again with its third coach since forcing Bill Mallory into retirement. The program has put several solid receivers into the second round of the draft recently, though presently no Hoosier possesses a first day grade next April.

Offensive tackle Isaac Sowells is a technically sound blocker who projects to guard at the next level.  A solid position blocker that seals defenders from the action, Sowells possesses a strong upper body and easily controls opponents at the point.  Effective as both a pass protector and run blocker, he must learn to play with better balance and awareness.  Fullback John Pannozzo is an effective offensive ball handler with marginal strength for a lead blocker.  Possessing both vision and instinct, he is a quick and fast fullback with the ability to get  around the corner yet must improve his playing strength. Center Chris Mangiero has shown flashes of dominance though he has suffered a with injuries

Defensively Indiana offers a pair of linebackers in Jake Powers and Kyle Killion who project as late round selections, though only a junior, Powers does offer upside. End Victor Adeyanju can be a disrupive pass rushing force but must improve his play against the run.
