SCOUTING REPORT- Cortlen Johnson/ Colorado

Cortlen Johnson      Colorado     5-9/200/4.63     5Sr

STATS & BIO: All-Conference selection as a senior when he was Colorado's primary back rushing for 89/567/6.4/4 and catching 24/382/15.9/1.  Played in eight games as a junior yet still led the team in rushing with 144/622/4.3/8, including a 155-yard performance against Nebraska.  Once again led the team in rushing as a sophomore totaling 147/700/4.8/8 in nine games.  Suffered academic and injury problems in the past.

THE GOOD:  Productive running back that has not shown a great deal of durability to date.  Runs with forward lean and displays a slashing style with the ability to slide off tackles or defenders.  Sees the field, waits for blocks to develop and cuts it back in a small area avoiding piles.  Aggressive, works his runs and puts his shoulders into the opponent when tackled.  Tough and plays with pain.

THE BAD: Displays some speed around the corner but cannot run to daylight nor does he show much strength in his running.  Loses focus, concentration and puts the ball on the carpet occasionally.

THE SKINNY: A lot of untapped potential yet to be met thanks in part to injuries but someone who could develop into a solid situational runner at the next level.  Free Agent.
