STATS & BIO: Younger brother of former Cornhusker Grant Wistrom. Received All-Conference consideration as a senior when his numbers were 21/323/15.4/2 after 19/314/16.5/5 as a junior. All-Conference selection both his junior and sophomore campaigns totaling 16/429/26.8/2 in '99.
THE GOOD: Intelligent tight end with a great feel for his position. Quick releasing off the line of scrimmage, stays focused, concentrates and looks the ball into his hands. Uses his body well to shield away opponents and protect the pass, comes back to the ball, making himself an available target for the quarterback. Lays out and gives effort to make the difficult grab. Adequate route running skills as he stays low exiting his breaks and positions himself to make the catch. Moves well laterally, adjusts to the errant throw and times his receptions well. Reads the defense and sneaks it downfield on occasion.
THE BAD: Blocks with leverage but not strong at the point of attack, rarely gets movement from his run blocks and only average pass protection skills. Did an admirable job long snapping at the Senior Bowl.
THE SKINNY: Value to a team is as a second tight end and third down receiver that has potential as a long snapper. Mid Fifth Round.
