'06 NFL Draft Watch: North Carolina

Just when it seemed the program and its' head coach was on the brink, North Carolina came back to upset the mighty Miami Hurricanes and returned to the post season. The team lost a lot of talent and many questions remain about the upcoming season. It is quite possible the Tar Heels will not have a player selected before the very at late rounds of next April's NFL draft.

Scouting the ACC: North Carolina

Offensively the team welcomes back several players including receiver Jarwarski Pollock.  A small but elusive pass catcher, Pollack is a reliable receiver not afraid to extend in the middle the field for the difficult reception.  Undersized, Pollack loses out in battles and must make an NFL roster as a return specialist.  Brian Chacos is a nice sized blocker and patient pass protector who effectively makes use of angles and body positioning to wall defenders away from the action.  Chacos is more a short area blocker and could backup in the NFL.  Kyle Ralph has been a consistent starter at left guard and offers possibilities as a utility lineman in the NFL.  Skip Seagraves returns after missing almost the entire 2004 campaign with a broken foot.  Seeing starting action the previous two seasons at both left and right tackle, Seagraves possesses size as well as growth potential and could move up draft boards with a solid campaign this year.  Wide out Derrele Mitchell possesses nice size and flashes the ability to run away from defenders.  Consistent the past three years, he must take his game to another level and increase his production to get a serious look in the late frames.

North Carolina welcomes back another player, defensive tackle Chase Page.  A nice sized interior lineman, Page has been a solid run stuffer in the middle and flashes pass rush skills.
