STATS & BIO: Former Northwestern transfer that threw-up huge numbers in the Ivy League. Coming off a down senior season when he passed for 63.5%/2,000/12/6 after 70.5%/3,214/24/12 as a junior, when he was an All-Conference selection and the Ivy League Player of the Year. Burst onto the scene in '99 throwing for 59.5%/2,328/14/12, setting a single game mark with 29 completions against Harvard. Started 12 games as a true freshman with the Wildcats passing for 54.5%/2,199/13/14.
THE GOOD: Nice sized pocket passer with a good feel for the game. Sells his play action passes setting up to deliver the ball, poised in the pocket and sees the field. Senses pressure, steps up to avoid it and takes what the defense gives him. Places his throws nicely, puts touch on them when required or zips the shorter throws. Looks off the safety, on the same page as his receivers and has a nice sense as to what is happening on the field. Solid arm and gets the ball downfield.
THE BAD: Not quick setting up to throw the ball, lacks the big release and has difficulty throwing off a three step drop. Stares down his primary target on occasion and not an elusive quarterback that can escape the rush.
THE SKINNY: Needed a big senior campaign in order to get him into the post season in front of scouts, but was not to be. Did benefit from a spread offense at Penn. Should be brought into camp and a solid developmental quarterback. Free Agent.
