SCOUTING REPORT- Kelly Campbell/ Georgia Tech

Kelly Campbell       Georgia Tech     5-10|171|4.53          4Sr

STATS & BIO: Three-year starter that has led the Jackets in receiving since he was a true sophomore.  All-Conference selection last year totaling 56/708/12.6/3 and averaged 28/23.2/0 returning kicks.  Junior pass catching numbers were 59/963/16.3/10 with 26/24.3/0 returning kicks.  Posted career numbers as a sophomore when he outplayed the much heralded Dez White accumulating 69/1,105/16.0/10 catching the ball, and 29/23.8/0 returning kicks.

THE GOOD:  Productive game breaking receiver and Georgia Tech's "go-to guy" the past three years.  Quick releasing off the line of scrimmage, fast and accelerates down the field getting behind opponents.  Goes over the middle and extends to make the difficult reception, adjusting well to the errant throw and displaying good eye/hand coordination.  Times and anticipates his receptions well, goes up in a crowd and makes the difficult catch.  Comes back to the ball, helps out the quarterback and makes himself an available target.  Concentrates throughout the play and always in control.  Improved his route running significantly the past two seasons; quick in and out of his breaks, stays low exiting them and gets separation.  Consistently looks the pass into his hands.

THE BAD: Not big or strong, slowed off the line of scrimmage by opponents jams and loses out in battles.  Lacks the second gear and top end speed.  Gets sloppy with the fundamentals on occasion and rounds off his routes.

THE SKINNY: Productive in all aspects of his game both as a receiver and kick returner, which he should easily carry over to the next level.  Late Second Round.
