SCOUTING REPORT- Guilian Gary/ Maryland

Guilian Gary          Maryland     6-0|190|4.55            4Sr

STATS & BIO: Led the program in receiving during the previous two campaigns, years he played with the first unit.  Second team All-Conference choice as a senior when he totaled 48/718/15.0/6 catching the ball and 15/6.7/0 returning punts.  Junior totals were 50/568/14.2/7 as a receiver with 13/5.0/0 returning punts.  Saw spot duty with the first team as a sophomore and caught 24/257/10.7/0, again, the team's leading receiver.

THE GOOD:  Productive, reliable wide out with consistent hands.  Solid route runner sharp in or out of his breaks, times the reception nicely and extends his hands looking the pass in.  Comes back to the ball, on the same page as his quarterback and helps out when the play breaks down.  Reads the defense, finds the open spot on the field and does a terrific job making himself an available target.  Uses the sidelines well, adjusts to the errant throw and keeps the play in bounds running after the catch.  Also makes the reception in stride.

THE BAD: Not fast or explosive, cannot go over the middle to make the difficult catch in a crowd and has difficulty taking a pounding and holding onto the ball.  While experienced as a punt returner he's never impacted the game in that area.

THE SKINNY: Reliability is the key and he could catch on as a team's fifth wide out.  Free Agent.
