SCOUTING REPORT- Jon Rutherford/ Nebraska

Jon Rutherford      Nebraska     6-2.5|298|5.23      5Sr

STATS & BIO: Fifth year prospect and top backup until this season when he started every game at guard. Saw action at almost every position on the offensive line and originally slated to replace Dominic Raiola at center after the former pivot man left for the draft last April but saw action at right tackle as a senior.

THE GOOD: Quick, hard working lineman that may be as good as he's going to get.  Displays explosion into his run blocks, quick setting in pass protection or getting out to engage linebackers on the second level.  Blocks with forward lean and leverage.

THE BAD: Can shuffle and slide his feet in space, gets his hands into opponents and displays arm punch.  Not a natural knee bender, lacks the powerful base and gets tall as the play proceeds.  Does not anchor in pass protection and has difficulty finishing his blocks.

THE SKINNY:  May not have the great size potential.  Had knee problems prior to his senior campaign which must be checked out.  Free Agent.
