NFL Draft Scouting Report: Clinton Solomon

Clinton Solomon/WR/Iowa

Full Name: Clinton Solomon     School: Iowa

Ht: 6-1     Wt: 205     40: 4.54     Yr: 4Sr

Pos: Underrated pass catcher who consistently makes plays down the field.   Easily makes the reception running full speed and contorts to the errant throw. Tough running after the catch, keeping the play in bounds and working to pick up positive yardage. Extends in a crowd to make the reception away from his frame. Takes a big hit yet holds onto the throw. Shifty and has a solid burst of  speed. Comes up with the important reception on third down. Very effective blocking downfield.

Neg: Occasionally double catches or bobbles the ball. Looks up the field before he's actually caught the pass.

Analysis: A prospect who came from nowhere last year, Solomon did an excellent job returning to Iowa in 2004. Lacks ideal size\speed numbers yet produces on the field and presents himself as a solid middle round choice.
