Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts top our fantasy list with a perfect 9-0 record and Peyton's three passing TDs against the Texans. In the best game of the weekend, it was Tampa Bay's QB Chris Simms connecting late with a 30 yard pass to Edell Shepherd for Simms' third TD pass of the game. Michael Vick threw for two scores and ran in another, but it wasn't enough against the Packers in Atlanta. Detroit's Joey Harrington filled in for injured Jeff Garcia and capitalized with three touchdowns to Roy Williams. Gus Frerotte and Kerry Collins both threw for over 300 yards and a couple of scores, but neither was able to lead his team to a victory. Tom Brady found some of his New England magic as he passed for a late touchdown to come from behind against the Dolphins. Mark Brunell was solid against Tampa Bay, but the Skins fell short at the end. Kurt Warner and Marc Bulger both threw for over 300 with a TD apiece, but neither had enough to get the win.
Alexander the Great! Shaun Alexander gained 165 on the ground to go over the 1100 yard mark and also rushed for his 15th, 16th and 17th touchdown of the season...and he's played only nine games. Rookie Samkon Gado was not employed one month ago by an NFL team, but the injuries to the Green Bay starting running backs opened the door and Sam Gado made the most of his opportunity with 100+ yards and three touchdowns in a win against the Atlanta Falcons. Versatile Tiki Barber was one of the few things that went right for the Lions as he tallyed over 200 total yards and a score in the Giants' loss. Clinton Portis rambled for 144 yards and a TD in the loss to the Bucs. Edgerrin James helped the Colts stay perfect with another game for a score and 100+ yards. Warrick Dunn and Reuben Droughns each had 120+ yards and a score in losing efforts for the Falcons and Browns. Cedric Benson filled in for ailing Thomas Jones, but Benson suffered a early knee injury that opened things up for Adrian Peterson...who rushed for 120 yards and a TD. Brian Westbrook and the Eagles looked good through 56 minutes, but the Cowboys came back with two touchdowns with under four minutes in the 4th quarter to steal the victory. Larry Johnson didn't find the endzone, but his 178 total yards definitely showed all he is ready to take on the load for the Chiefs. Greg Jones filled in for injured Fred Taylor and had over 100 yards and a touchdown. Ladell Betts had few touches and few yards, but his two TDs (one on a kick return) put him on our fantasy list. Ditto for Mike Alstott, although both of Alstott's TDs were in critical rushing situations. Carolina's Stephen Davis continues to be a TD machine, and this week he had a few yards (81) to go along with his score. Johnathan Wells filled in for Houston's Domanick Davis to give the Texans a touchdown and 75 yards. Steven Jackson, LaMont Jordan, and Heath Evans all had nice 100+ yard games, but none were able to find the endzone.
Wow! Roy Williams returned from his injury to again show the league his skills with three touchdowns from Joey Harrington. Larry Fitzgerald (who is a twin talent to Williams) continued his Pro-Bowl calibur season with 141 yards and a TD as he went head to head with Williams. Tampa Bay's Joey Galloway has convinced his fantasy owners that his rebirth is not a fluke as he put up 131 and a score against the Skins. Chris Chambers and Lee Evans had their yards held in check, but each was able to snag two TDs to make our top fantasy WR list. Hines Ward, Matt Jones, and Marvin Harrison were all able to catch balls for over 100 yards and a score each to help lead their respective teams to blowout victories in week ten. Randy Moss may not be 100%, but he continues to catch touchdowns for his fantasy owners. Edell Shepherd caught his 3rd, 4th, and 5th catches of the season and made our list with 87 yards and a score. Antonio Bryant was the leading receiver for the Browns with a TD. D.J. Hackett and Brandon Stokley may not be the top receiving options on their teams, but each caught balls for over 70 yards and a score as the Seahawks and Colts rolled. Donald Driver and Marty Booker both had over 100 receiving yards, but neither found their way across the goal line.
Ben Watson tops our tight end list for week ten with two touchdown grabs. Dallas Clark and Mike Sellers were the only other tight ends to score on Sunday. Tony Gonzalez and Randy McMichael both were keys to their offenses with multiple catches and 81 yards apiece, but neither player was on the winning end of the score. Chris Cooley, Todd Heap, L.J. Smith, and Jeremy Shockey all had five or more catches for 50+ yards, but none were able to catch a TD pass.
News and Notes - The New York Giants held the Minnesota Vikings to less than 140 yards of total offense, but the Vikings became the first team in the NFL to return a kickoff, punt, and an interception back for a TD (all over 70 yards each) in their 24-21 last minute victory over the Giants...The Indianapolis Colts increased their record to a perfect 9-0 and have fans looking forward...The Philadelphia Eagles looked like the much better team on MNF, that is until the Dallas Cowboys responded with two touchdowns in the final four minutes of the 4th quarter to steal the victory...Samkon Gado was a 3rd stringer at Liberty, was unemployed one month ago, and got his chance with the Green Bay Packers on Sunday; Gado made the best of the opportunity with three TDs in the victory over the Atlanta Falcons on the road...Thomas Jones was inactive Sunday with his ailing ribs and gave way to Cedric Benson's first start; Benson wound up lame with an injured knee early in the game, yielding to Adrian Peterson the bulk of the carries and a 120 yard game...Upon throwing a late interception to give away the game for the Eagles, Donovan McNabb limped off the field and is likely to miss week 11 with an ankle injury (in addition to rib and hernia injuries)...WRs Roy Williams and Larry Fitzgerald are starting to look like the top wide receiver future of the NFL (making the two a must in keeper leagues)...Not enough can be said about Shaun Alexander's contract season and his 17 TDs and 1114 rushing yards (5.4 yards per carry) through nine weeks
