Scouting the Holiday Bowl

After several years on top of the Big 12, Oklahoma was a big disappointment this season after a change at quarterback. On the other hand Oregon played beyond expectations and has several prospects moving up draft boards.

Oklahoma

Name Pos # Yr Rnd Report
Rufus Alexander OLB 42 4Jr 2\3 Good athlete who projects on the weak-side.  Has starting potential.  Seriously considering entering the draft.
Eric Bassey CB 13 5Sr FA

Looked like a prospect as a sophomore yet has watched his play regress since.
Larry Birdine DE 92 4Jr 1st

Outstanding pass rusher with great upside.  On the sidelines with injury all year.
Chris Bush C 52 5Sr FA Can play guard or center.
Kelvin Chaisson G 70 5Sr 7th Tough, small area blocker.
Chris Chester G 64 5Sr 6\7

Versatile athlete who needs to add bulk and strength.
Dusty Dvoracek DT 94 5Sr 3\4 Intense competitor who lacks great size.  Has off the field concerns yet offers potential for the next level in a rotational system.
Clint Ingram OLB 44 5Sr 3\4 Solid strong-side prospect with starting potential.
Kejuan Jones RB 20 5Sr FA Versatile back who could be used in a reserve role.
Davin Joseph G 77 4Sr 2\3 Outstanding guard prospect effective in all areas.
James Moses TE 89 5Sr FA

Effective pass catcher who must improve his blocking.
Chijioke Onyenegecha CB 22 4Sr FA

Long term developmental prospect.
Jejuan Rankins WR 3 4Sr FA
J.D. Runnels FB 38 4Sr 6\7 Triple threat fullback overlooked in scouting circles.
Travis Wilson WR 4 4Sr 3rd

Nice sized receiver who struggled as a senior. Draft stock is slipping.

Oregon

Name Pos # Yr Rnd Report
Kellen Clemens QB 11 5Sr 4\5 Terrific short yardage passer coming off a terrific senior campaign.   Won't play because of injury.
Timothy Day TE 85 5Sr 2\3 Complete tight end who can block and make the important reception.  Looks a bit mechanical but a potential starter in the NFL.
Devan Long DE 92 5Sr FA Solid college pass rusher with limited upside.
Enoka Lucas C 55 4Jr 4\5
Haloti Ngata DT 96 4Jr 1st Dominant interior lineman who will be a top 12 pick next April.  Incredibly athletic for a big man.
Justin Phinisee CB 31 5Sr FA
Dante Rosario FB 44 3Jr 7th

Athletic fullback who prefers handling the ball rather then blocking for ball carriers.
Terrence Whitehead RB 24 4Sr 5\6 Well-sized, versatile back who will be a solid role player in the NFL.
Demetrius Williams WR 6 5Sr 2\3 Along with his quarterback, turned in a great campaign and shooting up draft boards.  Not real big or fast but consistent.
