NFL Draft '07: Scouting North Carolina State

After three defensive linemen were selected during the first round of last April's draft, many wondered aloud why the Wolfpack only won seven games in ‘05. This year's team is not as talented yet offers solid prospects on both sides of the line of scrimmage.

Senior Leroy Harris is one of the highest rated centers in the nation.  A tough, small area blocker Harris plays with a nasty attitude and works to finish blocks.  If all things work out Harris could sneak in to the late part of the draft's first day next April.

Even with the departure of first round choice John McCargo the Wolfpack offer two more NFL prospects at the defensive tackle position.  Senior DeMarcus Tyler explodes off the snap with a terrific first step and bull rushes opponents off the ball.  Very active, Tyler offers solid size and will be a good middle round pick next April.  Junior DeMario Pressley is also stout at the point yet a tackle who makes plays out to the sidelines as well as up the field.  Needing to physically mature, Pressley offers good upside as one to watch.
