NFL Draft '07: Scouting Oregon State

After string of successful campaigns, Oregon State has hit a bump in the road. The team has a smattering of NFL-prospects on both sides of the ball.

Highly rated since his sophomore campaign, tight end Joe Newton tore a knee ligament and must now return to prior form. Newton is a complete player at his position, productive catching the ball and blocking. He has first day potential next April. Left tackle Adam Koets is an underrated prospect who stands out in pass protection. Koets makes outstanding use of blocking angles on the blind side and is a solid developmental prospect. Underclassmen Roy Schuening is a another prospect at the guard position who must be watched the next two years.

Defensively safety Sabby Piscitelli is a tremendous athlete with outstanding size/speed numbers and considered a quality character person. Offering first day computer numbers, Piscitelli must start to put it together on the football field and become more productive to be drafted early next April.
