NFL Draft '07: Scouting Washington

A once proud program that's fallen on hard times, Washington has had a total of three wins and three players drafted into the NFL since the 2004 season. The situation will improve this year but only by a slight margin.

Athletically quarterback Isaiah Stanback grades out highly on the NFL scale. Possessing outstanding size/speed numbers, Stanback also offers the arm strength to make all the throws. And while his physical skills stand out his deficient quarterback intangibles are also noticeable. Stanback's accuracy and pass placement can be characterized in a single word; woeful. Shaky under pressure, Stanback makes a lot of poor decisions. Needing to improves his overall game, Stanback is a prospect who could end up as a first day pick if he pulls the pieces together or land in a very late rounds should he continue his erratic passing. Running back Kenny James offers solid size and flashes a well-rounded game. A backup through his Washington career, James will get a chance to display his talents as the teams feature runner this year.

Defensively safety C.J. Wallace possesses solid computer numbers yet must prove he is more than a one-dimensional run defender to get anything other then late round consideration.
