NFL Draft '07: Scouting Arkansas

After struggling the past two seasons Arkansas hopes to be playing in a December bowl game this year. Most of the Razorbacks draft-eligible talent is of late round variety.

Offensively a trio of prospects can be found on the offensive line. There will be a variety of opinions leading up to the draft on Tony Ugoh a finesse lineman with solid size. Quick off the snap, Ugoh is a terrific position blocker who makes exceptional use of angles, sealing defenders from the action. Using all his assets to his advantage, Ugoh is not a mauler and rarely finishes blocks. A college tackle, he may have a home at guard in a zone blocking system for an NFL team. Stephen Parker offers better size and the powerful guard turns defenders off the ball. Marginally athletic, Parker does not play with good balance and is best in confined quarters. Junior Robert Felton is another small area blocker with minimal ability in motion. Offering the best size of the three, Felton is a solid future prospect. Receiver Marcus Monk is another underclassmen on the radar screen. Possessing outstanding size, Monk also offers soft hands and can be devastating red zone target. Not afraid to go up in a crowd for the difficult reception, he is the prototypical possession wide out for the next level. Tight end Mason Templeton offers lineman type size yet is a solid pass catcher. Effective as a blocker, the junior could find a home as a second tight end in the NFL.

Defensively the Razorback prospects are undersized and hard-working. Tackle Keith Jackson is a bowling ball in the middle of the line and a first move defender who could be used as a three technique lineman. Marcus Harrison has better size and fights hard in the middle of the field. Quick off the snap Harris plays with leverage and is constantly doubled by opponents. Only a junior, he offers a lot of potential. Linebacker Sam Olajubutu is constantly around the action making positive plays. Fluid moving laterally, he has a burst speed and stands out in coverage. Measuring barely 5-feet-9-inches Olajubutu is a nickel linebacker/special teams player who may get looks at safety. Cornerback Darius Vinnett flashes shut down skills but is another small prospect with possibility as a dime back at the next level.
