NFL Draft '07: Scouting Kentucky

A program in disarray, little is expected from Kentucky on the football field this season or in NFL war rooms next April.

On offense a pair of juniors presently sit on the radar screen. Rafael Little is a patient ball carrier who quickly gets through the running lanes. Also an outstanding pass catcher, he offers potential as a third-down back in the NFL. Keenan Burton flashes abilities as a game breaking receiver yet must become more consistent and show himself to be a total wide out before scouts take him serious.

Three prospects on defense offer NFL potential. Cornerback Bo Smith possesses outstanding size/speed numbers and is the teams best cover man. Opposing quarterbacks consistently look away from Smith who could sneak into the draft's first day next April. Defensive end Durrell White is undersized with marginal timed speed. That said White plays more athletic than his size\speed numbers and will get consideration as a backup rush linebacker for a 34 defense. Keep an eye Lamar Mills, an explosive yet undersized defensive tackle who displayed a lot of skill early in his career before tearing a knee ligament last season.
