NFL Draft '07: Scouting Rutgers

Expectations are high as the Scarlet Knights come off their first bowl appearance in nearly 30 years. They team offers two potential first day picks for next April's draft and another pair of late rounders.

While he plays with a throwback style, fullback Brian Leonard is a triple threat player with the ability to impact the game as a lead blocker, ball carrier or pass catcher. Tough, intelligent and instinctive Leonard plays with speed, intensity and discipline. A complete package at fullback, he is top 75 material. Tight end Clark Harris is a productive pass catcher with a good understanding of the game. Remaining alert and aware, he consistently finds the open spot in the defense and occasionally sneaks it downfield. Possessing solid hands Clark always comes away with the difficult grab and works to pick up positive yardage running after the reception. Possessing a tall, thin build Clark is a marginal blocker who does not time well in the 40. His skill on the field cannot be dismissed and Clark could slide into the draft's first day. Receiver Willie Foster is a small but consistent pass catcher with reliable hands. Elusive running after the reception, he'll have to earn his wage at the next level as a return specialist. Receiver Shawn Tucker is another reliable wide out with a polished game. Possessing adequate size/speed numbers, he will have an opportunity to make a roster as a fifth receiver. Sophomore Mike Teel steps behind center as the starter this year and the big quarterback offers a live arm and the physical skills to play at the next level. Struggling with injuries and inconsistency last year, Teel must be watched.
