The Cincinnati Bengals and talented QB Carson Palmer finally got their offense together and scored 40+ points in a game...but Palmer's 440 yards and 3 TDs were outshined by San Diego's 42 (FORTY-TWO) 2nd half points - the SD late onslaught was enough to come back and beat the Bengals in Cincinnati. In a homecoming of sorts for Baltimore Ravens QB Steve McNair to Nashville, McNair was the shining star for the Ravens with 373 yards and 3 TDs...Baltimore barely eeked out a victory and improved to 7-2. Philip Rivers became even more seasoned in the Chargers 2nd half comeback in Cincy...Rivers finished with 338 yards and 3 TDs. Big Ben Roethlisberger looked good in his 3 TD home win over the New Orleans Saints. Chicago Bears QB Rex Grossman recovered from a lousy first half performance to get it going in the second half and finish with 3 TDs. In a game that required Green Bay to throw the football, Brett Favre was glad to oblidge with 42 tosses - resulting in a win for the Green Bay Packers and 347 passing yards for Brett (plus 2 TDs). Tony Romo had a nice win in Arizona with 300+ passing yards and a couple scores. Saints QB Drew Brees tossed it 47 times for 398 yards and a score in a road loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
As expected, LaDainian Tomlinson absolutely went off in Cincy! Tomlinson scored 4 TDs on 158 total yards and is on pace for an NFL record setting performance. Willie Parker rushed for 213 yards and a couple TDs in the Steelers win over the Saints...Parker averaged almost 10 yards per carry in the game - Wow! Frank Gore busted it for 173 total yards and a TD in a Niners win over the Detroit Lions, but Gore would have run for more if a concussion wouldn't have sidelined him during the contest. Steven Jackson went for 133 yards and a score in a rain-soaked loss to divisional foe Seattle. Rookie Colts RB Joseph Addai had 124 all-purpose yards and a TD in a win over the Buffalo Bills. Chicago Bears RB Thomas Jones ran for 113 and a TD in a SNF win over the New York Giants. Saints RB Deuce McAllister found the endzone twice in the road loss to the Steelers. Tennessee's Travis Henry was the running game against Baltimore...Henry was 27 for 107 and a TD in the late loss. Rudi Johnson, Larry Johnson, and Reggie Bush all had 89 yard / 1 TD performances, but all three were on the losing side of the NFL scoreboard. Ronnie Brown ran for 89 yards and a score in the Dolphin win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Kevan Barlow had 82 total yards and a TD in the Jets upset over the Patriots. Tiki Barber was held scoreless against the Chicago Bears, but Barber did manage to gain his usual 157 yards. Brian Westbrook put up 150 total yards on only 14 touches in the Philly win over the Redskins. Brandon Jacobs rushed for only 9 (NINE) yards, but his 2 (TWO) TDs were more than enough to please his fantasy owners fortunate enough to start Jacobs. Maurice Morris and Anthony Thomas each had 100+ rushing yards in fill-in roles for their NFL teams on Sunday.
After only 482 yards and 2 TDs through 9 weeks, Chad Johnson busted out for 260 yards and doubled his TD total in week 10 with a fine offensive performance. Donald Driver caught 191 yards (one for a TD) of Favre's 347 passing yards in the Pack victory over the Vikings at the Metrodome. Carolina's Steve Smith turned it on in the 2nd half for a 149 yard - 1 TD total in a MNF win for the Panthers over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Donte Stallworth came back from his hamstring injury to catch 6 for 139 yards and a TD in a win over the Washington Redskins. Mark Clayton caught 7 for 125 and a score in Nashville. Chicago Bears WR Muhsin Muhammad had 123 yards and a TD in the win over the New York Giants. Malcom Floyd (who?) caught gained over half of his receiving yardage on the season (plus a TD) in the San Diego win over Cincinnati. Patrick Crayton filled in nicely for injured Terry Glenn and caught 5 for 104 and a TD in the Cowboys win over the Cardinals...Terrell Owens had nearly exact numbers (less 8 yards) to Crayton in the game. New Orleans' Terrance Copper could have been better down the stretch for Drew Brees, but his 92 yards and a score were enough to help get the Saints back in the game. Reche Caldwell caught 9 for 90 yards and a TD in the Pats loss to the Jets. Veterans Hines Ward and Darrell Jackson each had 5 catches and 80+ yards (with a TD) in wins for the Steelers and Seahawks. Marques Colston added to his WR fantasy football lead with 10 grabs for 169 yards in week 10...for owners lucky enough to pluck him from the waiver wire early in the season. Drew Bennett gained 115 yards for the Titans, but was held out of the endzone in the loss to the Ravens.
No, it wasn't TE Antonio Gates who scored the San Diego TDs, but it was the other Chargers tight end who scored 2 (TWO) TDs against the Bengals...Brandon Manumaleuna scored TDs on both of his catches in the Chargers win in week 10. Bo Scaife caught 2 for 48 yards, but it was his 13 yard run that got him his 2nd score for the season...Bo knows running for a TD. Dan Campbell got into the scoring action for Detroit on Sunday. Heath Miller scored only his 3rd TD on the year in the Steelers win over the Saints. Kellen Winslow Jr. leads the league for all TEs with 56 catches (tied for 2nd of all WRs!) and is second with 561 yards after his 90 yard performance on Sunday. Jerramy Stevens had a TD in the Seahawks win. TE's Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, and Ben Utecht all had games for big yardage, but none of the trio was able to find the endzone.
*Scaife had 1 carry for 13 yards resulting in a TD
