Drew Brees put on a phenominal showing in week 11 with 510 (FIVE HUNDRED AND TEN) passing yards to move him into the lead of all NFL passers with 3120 on the season...and oh yes, Brees also threw for 2 TDs this past weekend to tie him for 5th of all QBs. Although his wide receivers remain somewhat nameless in the fantasy world, Tom Brady threw for 4 TDs on Sunday to move into 2nd on the season with 19. J.P. Losman had arguably his best game of the season in week 11 as Losman threw for a whopping 340 yards and 3 TDs (it's just too bad there were so few fantasy owners to capitalize on Losman's numbers). Cincy's Carson Palmer had another respectable week with 275 passing yards and 3 TDs...the wowing thing here is that 190 of Palmer's yards and all 3 of his TDs went to WR Chad Johnson! Big Ben Roethlisberger threw for 272 yards and 2 TDs to give the Pittsburgh Steelers another win. Peyton Manning threw for decent yardage and a couple of TDs in week 11 (although Manning's passer rating was lousy), but the 1st Colts loss to the Cowboys overshadowed Manning's stats.Seneca Wallace and the Seattle Seahawks were less than perfect in the surprising loss to the San Francisco 49ers, but Wallace did manage to throw for over 250 yards and had 2 TDs in the loss.
4 (FOUR) MORE...WOW! Super-STUD LaDainian Tomlinson had another 4 TDs in week 11 (and against the Denver Broncos!) combined with 179 all-purpose yardage to boost his season TD total to 22 and overall yardage number to 1488...it sure looks like a few records are going to be broken in 2006 for LT. Baltimore Ravens RB Jamal Lewis had 3 of his 5 season TDs on Sunday for his fantasy owners who stuck with him. KC's Larry Johnson (another super-STUD) had only 2 TDs and 154 rushing yards this week (sounds meek in comparison to Tomlinson), but LJ's season totals remain huge with 14 total TDs (2nd behind LT) and 1388 total yards (2nd and only 100 behind LT). Frank Gore had another HUGE week this past weekend against the Seahawks with 238 total yards (over 200 yards rushing and only 2 yards behind LJ on the season with 1043!), but was unable to find the endzone. Mike Bell was healthy enough to rush for 90 yards and a couple of TDs against the San Diego Chargers. Travis Henry busted for a whopping 142 rushing yards and a TD for the Tennessee Titans. Chester Taylor had 80 yards and 2 TDs for the Minnesota Vikings and Taylor's fantasy owners in week 11. Fast Willie Parker didn't put up the huge yardage totals from a week ago, but Parker's 2 TDs were more than enough to satisfy his owners. Rookie sensation RB Laurence Maroney had 116 total yards and a TD in New England's win. Samkon Gado had near 100 total yards and a TD for the Houston Texans. Cadillac Williams had his engine running strong on Sunday...Caddy put up 156 overall yards for the Bucs. Fred Taylor neared 100 yards with a TD for the Jags. Marion Barber scored 2 of the Dallas Cowboys 3 TDs in the win over the previously undefeated Indianapolis Colts. Philadelphia Eagles RB Brian Westbrook was much of the Philly offense with his 148 overall yards, but BW wasn't able to find the endzone on Sunday. Houston's Wali Lundy got into the endzone on Sunday in a combo effort with Sam Gado. DeAngelo Williams, Thomas Jones, Rudi Johnson, Edgerrin James, Reggie Bush, and Julius Jones are all worth mentioning as week 11 fantasy RB stars with their 100+ total yard games, but none of the group were able to find their way across the goalline.
Lee Evans' huge 11 reception game for 265 yards and a couple TDs not only impressed his fantasy owners on Sunday, but his yardage boom also moved him past names such as Marvin Harrison, Torry Holt, and Terrell Owens for the season yardage totals. After an extremely shaky start, Cincy's Chad Johnson busted out for the 2nd week in a row (190 yards and 3 TDs) to take the yardage league with 933 and is now 2nd in receiving TDs with 7...CJ has 450 yards and 5 TDs over the past 2 weeks...wow! Deion Branch was one of the few bright spots for Seattle on Sunday with his 113 yard/1 TD effort in the loss to the Niners. Ditto Branch's comments and numbers for Reggie Wayne in Indy's loss to Dallas. Devery Henderson caught his share from Drew Brees, but all of Henderson's 169 yards came between the goallines. The Saints' Joe Horn and Terrance Copper each had around 90 yards and a TD apiece to compliment Henderson's performance. Steve Smith caught 4 for 90 with a TD for Carolina. Mark Bradley's 80 yards and TD helped the Chicago Bears to their win. Cleveland's Braylon Edwards caught 7 for 137 yards in the Browns loss to the Steelers and was held out of the endzone.
Ben Watson's 74 yards from QB Tom Brady in week 11 boosted Watson to 3rd in yardage of all tight ends...and solidified BW as one of Brady's favorite targets on the season. Chris Cooley caught 5 for 58 yards and a TD in a nice effort for the Redskins. Philly's L.J. Smith will have to continue to step up like he did this past Sunday...Smith had 7 grabs for 57 yards and a score in week 11. Justin Peelle caught a TD, but he isn't really worth mentioning in any fantasy circles...and most still don't know who he is or where he plays. Jeremy Shockey was up to the occasion for the Giants and helped struggling Eli Manning...Shockey caught 7 balls for 82 yards, but was kept from the endzone. Jermaine Wiggins and Todd Heap each caught 6 for 60+ yards, but neither crossed the goalline.
News and Notes - As witnessed in person, the undefeated Indianapolis Colts finally lost to the Dallas Cowboys in week 11...Shaun Alexander is not on the week 12 injury report and is said to now be feeling 100%...Matt Hasselbeck is still not a lock to start this Sunday for the Seahawks...Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb was playing the best football of his career through the first half of 2006, but a season ending ACL ended his season (Jeff Garcia is expected to start in McNabb's place)...The NFL has moved the Philly-Indy game (originally scheduled for 1pm on Nov. 26) to 8:15 pm as a 'flex' scheduled game...LaDainian Tomlinson will break an NFL RB TD record if he continues close to his current torrid pace...Those who listened and traded for Chad Johnson after week 9 are reaping huge benefits with CJ's 5 TD / 450 yard performance over weeks 10-11...Marques Colston (ankle) is listed as questionable for week 12, but isn't likely to play against Atlanta...Brett Favre still feels tingling in his elbow, but will likely start against the Seahawks on MNF...Daunte Culpepper is listed as OUT for week 12 and looking more like an injured reserve casualty each day, but hasn't yet been placed on IR...Thanksgiving games for week 12 include Miami @ Detroit, Tampa Bay @ Dallas, and Denver @ Kansas City...The Denver-KC game will be the first regular season ever broadcast live on NFL Network (a Thursday Night trend that will continue throughout the remainder of the 2006 season)
