Scouting the Outback Bowl for NFL Talent

January 1, 11AM EST, ESPN: As is the case almost every New Year's Day, the Outback Bowl offers what could be one of the best match-ups of the bowl season. Several terrific battles on the lines of scrimmage along with a number of top skill prospects highlight this game.

Paul Posluszny OLB 31 4Sr 2nd Hard-working defender with tremendous instincts.  Constantly around the action making plays.  Started slow as a senior but played well by season's end.  Pre-draft workouts are critical.

Tim Shaw OLB 20 5Sr 6/7 Tough, run defending linebacker who can also drop into coverage.  Used mainly as a pass-rusher this season and may be downgraded.
BranDon Snow FB 30 4Sr FA Blue-collar lead blocker who is a little one-dimensional.

Turk McBride DE 90 4Sr 3/4 Developing lineman whose game continues to progress.  Lacks top size but could grow into a two-gap lineman.
Robert Meachem WR 3 4Jr 1/2 Game breaking receiver starting to put the pieces together.  Controls contests or gets down field for the big play.  Lots of upside.
Marvin Mitchell ILB 40 5Sr 6/7 Well sized run defending linebacker who could play in the middle or on the inside.  Comes off a breakout campaign but has several off the field incidents to consider.
Arron Sears T 76 4Sr 2nd Dynamite blocker who can play four positions up front.  Does not have great size nor very pretty blocking the edge but efficient and effective.
Brett Smith WR 9 4Sr FA Solid college receiver who stepped up his game this season.  Could make it as a fifth wide out.  Declared academically ineligible for this game.
Antwan Stewart S 24 5Sr FA Athletic prospect who never panned out on the football field.
Jayson Swain WR 1 4Sr FA Sure handed wide out who took his game to another level this season.  Potential 4th/5th wide out in the NFL.
Jonathan Wade CB 4 5Sr 2/3 Athletic corner with top size/speed numbers.  Shows a lot of flashes on the field but has never completely put it together.
