Saints Bring in Linemen For Visits

A league source has informed that the New Orleans Saints hosted a bunch of the top offensive linemen on Tuesday.

USC C Ryan Kalil, Auburn University G Ben Grubbs, Central Michigan University LT Joe Staley, and University of Akron G Andy Alleman all visited the defending NFC South champion.

The Saints could use a developmental type of interior lineman who could eventually challenge veteran G Jamar Nesbit so the selection of Grubbs with their first-round pick (#27) makes a lot of sense. Alleman is another possibility with their second-round pick.

Starting C Jeff Faine is signed through the 2009 season so it's hard to see where Kalil would fit in.

The most interesting name on the visit list is Staley considering LT Jammal Brown did a good last year of converting from the right side.
