Cleveland Browns       Grade: B

Added Lost
S Mike Adams, 49ers
WR Tim Carter, Giants (traded)
LB Kris Griffin, Chiefs (waived)
TE Ryan Krause, Chargers
RB Jamal Lewis, Ravens
C/G Seth McKinney, Dolphins
LB Antwan Peek, Texans
LB Jason Short, FA
DT Robaire Smith, Titans
DT Shaun Smith, Bengals
OG Eric Steinbach, Bengals
CB Kenny Wright, Redskins
OG Joe Andruzzi (released)
CB Ralph Brown, Cardinals
RB Reuben Droughns, Giants (traded)
DE Nick Eason,  Steelers
CB Daylon McCutcheon (released)
DE Alvin McKinley, Broncos
WR/PR Dennis Northcutt, Jaguars
S Brian Russell, Seahawks
FB Terrelle Smith (released)

Re-signed:  OT Nat Dorsey, C Hank Fraley, DE Simon Fraser, C/G Lennie Friedman, NT Ethan Kelley, LB Mason Unck

Comments: The Smith boys should help on defense and Steinbach was a very good addition to the offensive front. Does Jamal Lewis have anything left in the tank? Northcutt was the key loss as a returner and leaves a void is a very thin receiving group. Browns have an outstanding proactive pro personnel department.

Pittsburgh Steelers        Grade: C-

Added Lost
RB Kevan Barlow, Jets
DE Nick Eason, Browns
G/C Sean Mahan, Buccaneers
DE Rodney Bailey, Cardinals
P Chris Gardocki (released)
C Jeff Hartings (retired)
RB Verron Haynes (released)
WR Sean Morey, Cardinals
LB Joey Porter (released)

Re-signed:  S Tyrone Carter, RB Najeh Davenport, LB Arnold Harrison, CB Chidi Iwuoma, QB Brian St. Pierre, OT Max Starks, LS Greg Warren, WR Nate Washington

Comments: No impact additions or subtractions for the Steelers.  Porter will be missed, but did not play to the same level in 2006 that he did in the 2005 Super bowl season.

Cincinnati Bengals        Grade: D

Added Lost
CB Blue Adams, Buccaneers
DT Kenderick Allen, Packers
LB Ed Hartwell, Falcons
DT Michael Myers, Broncos
C Alex Stepanovich, Cardinals
DT Sam Adams (released)
C Rich Braham (retired)
CB Tory James, Patriots
S Kevin Kaesviharn, Saints
LB A.J. Nicholson (released)
LB Brian Simmons (released)
OG Eric Steinbach, Browns
TE Tony Stewart, Raiders
WR Kelley Washington, Patriots
LB Marcus Wilkins, Falcons
QB Anthony Wright, Giants

Re-signed:  G Stacy Andrews, CB Greg Brooks, DE Robert Geathers, QB Doug Johnson, LB Landon Johnson, TE Reggie Kelly, OL Scott Kooistra, P Kyle Larson, LB Caleb Miller, DE Justin Smith, RB Kenny Watson, RB Terrence Whitehead

Comments: Cincinnati is another talented club which lost key personnel on both sides of the ball, including four veteran starters. Losing players to clubs within your division (Steinbech and Smith to Cleveland) is a double whammy. Re-signed RFAs Landon Johnson and Stacy Andrews are developing prospects.

Baltimore Ravens        Grade: F

Added Lost
RB Willis McGahee, Bills (trade) DT Aubrayo Franklin, 49ers
RB Jamal Lewis (released)
FB Ovie Mughelli, Falcons
OG Edwin Mulitalo (released)
OT Tony Pashos, Jaguars
LB Adalius Thomas, Patriots

Re-signed:  WR Devard Darling, DT Atiyyah Ellison, LB Dennis Haley, DE Jarret Johnson, LS Matt Katula, OT Mike Kracalik, WR Clarence Moore, OG Ikechuku Ndukwe, CB Evan Oglesby, CB Ronnie Prude, OG Brian Rimpf, PR/KR Cory Ross, PR/KR B.J. Sams, S Gerome Sapp, LB Mike Smith, RB Musa Smith, CB Jamaine Winborne

Comments: The Ravens due to cap restraints chose not to participate in free agency to any extent. Replacing four starters in any given year is not an easy chore.
