Lynch and Jarrett Reach Late Night Deals

Buffalo Bills first-round pick RB Marshawn Lynch signed late Thursday evening. The six-year deal is worth close to $19 million and comes with more than $10 million guarantees. Lynch can void the final season if he reaches certain incentive levels in his contract likely based on playing time.

Lynch will be competing against veteran RB Anthony Thomas for the starting job.

In other rookie signing news, another league source told us the New York Jets are at an impasse with first-round pick CB Darrelle Revis. The Jets want to sign Revis to a six-year deal while his representatives remain steadfast in wanting a five-year deal. Other elements in the negotiations make league insiders feel signing Revis may not be imminent.

Also of note, learned Carolina Panthers second-round pick WR Dwayne Jarrett reached a deal with the club late Thursday evening. Jarrett's agent Darin Morgan wasn't available to confirm the deal. Jarrett is expected to be competing for a starting job against fourth-year pro Drew Carter.

Finally, representatives for former University of Florida S Reggie Nelson have told us negotiations with the Jacksonvile Jaguars have been positive and they feel a deal could be struck soon. The first-round pick is expected to be a starter this season.
