2001: Second on the team in receiving with 30/512/17.1/2 in 11 starts including the Fiesta Bowl. Top game statistically was a five-reception, 113-yard effort against Texas A& M, including a 75-yard pass which was CU's longest play from scrimmage for the year.
2000: Played mainly on special teams.
The Good: Underrated receiver slowly developing into a complete pass catcher. Plays a fast game, gets down the field and has a penchant for consistently making the long reception. Times and anticipates the deep receptions well, adjusts nicely and makes the difficult catch running full tilt. Runs well laterally keeping his focus, concentration and catches the pass in stride. Decent route runner that uses his frame to box out opponents and gets separation from defenders.
The Bad: Lets the pass get inside him and does too much body catching. Not overly quick or effective running after the catch.
The focus these days in Boulder is on running back Chris Brown, a devastating interior runner that leaves a trail of defenders in his wake carrying the ball. But another Colorado Buffalo from the junior class also has defenders trailing behind him, big play wide out Derek McCoy. *Photo Courtesy of Getty Images*
