HOT - Tom Brady and Tony Romo are running away with the show. Brady will shatter the NFL TD passing record by his 13th game and Romo will have 30 passing TDs by his 11th game (Peyton Manning led all QBs with just 31 passing TDs in 2006). Derek Anderson continues to prove he's for real and will keep Brady Quinn from the mix next season if he keeps his current grasp on the position. Ben Roethlisberger is having his best season of his career while Peyton Manning and Carson Palmer try to pick it up in the 2nd half. Matt Hasselbeck is coming on and Drew Brees still hasn't found last season's consistent form.
COLD - Only Vince Young and Daunte Culpepper started in week 11 and both played well. Let's see what they're able to do in week 12 before moving them out of the COLD. Neither has stats worthy of a fantasy starter, but Culpepper does deserve a bit of credit given his fewer starts and lower snap count.
*Young has 291 rushing yards
HOT - Brian Westbrook took over the top statistical slot with Adrian Peterson recovering from a knee injury. Westbrook's versatility and consistency make him a strong favorite to put up dual stats each and every week. LaDainian Tomlinson leads the league in RB TDs, but is just a touch behind both Westbrook and Peterson in total yardage (despite many more touches by LT). Joseph Addai is staying strong and should be a quality play down the stretch for Indy as the Colts defend their divisional lead from Jacksonville. Marshawn Lynch is benched until he recovers from injury. Jamal Lewis has surged recently while Marion Barber has fallen while suffering from the effects of a crowded Dallas backfield. Willie Parker is second in the league in rushing yardage, but his 233 carries through 10 games is huge (Edgerrin James is the only other RB with more than 200)...not sure how Parker has touched the ball nearly 250 times this season (most in NFL) while scoring only twice?!?
COLD - Thomas Jones has a respectable amount of yardage with the Jets, but hasn't yet found the endzone on 208 touches. Has Travis Henry played his last game as a Bronco in 2007? Fred Taylor's best days are behind him. Shaun Alexander looks healthy, but the Seahawks look better while he "recovers". DeAngelo Williams can't seem to get his starting break from DeShaun Foster. Just why is Laurence Maroney not carrying and scoring more?...maybe Bill Belichick is resting Maroney for the playoffs!? Rudi Johnson is playing again, but Kenny Watson is looking like the better back in Cincy (and Watson is much more versatile and seems like a better fit in the Bengal offense).
HOT - Randy Moss and Terrell Owens each scored 4 (FOUR) TDs in their 10 game and separated themselves from the statistical WR pack. T.J. Houshmandzadeh leads the league with 76 catches through week 11 with 11 TDs, but somehow is still overshadowed by the amazing seasons of Randy Moss and Terrell Owens. Larry Fitzgerald seems to finally be in a groove in Arizona while Plaxico Burress is suffering more from his lingering ankle injury. Torry Holt and Marques Colston are both still on the HOT list...and each are capable of huge numbers throughout the 2nd half of the season as the Rams and Saints both open up their offenses.
COLD - It's unbelievable that the players on this list have so few touchdowns (and only Devery Henderson has more than one). The lack of productivity by Chris Chambers may be the most puzzling of all...Chambers has always been overrated, but the move to San Diego should have resulted in better numbers. Santana Moss has recovered and is looking better, but we'll leave him here until he produces on a semi-regular basis. Marvin Harrison is still out and may be out for a couple of more weeks. Javon Walker is looking like a "go" on Sunday and may not be a bad play...but it may be wise to wait a week prior to moving him into starting lineups.
HOT - Antonio Gates, Kellen Winslow, Jason Witten, and Tony Gonzalez all have 50-some receptions, but Gates is the pure stat leader with 6 TDs...although Winslow is closing and leads in total yardage with 767. Heath Miller has been catching TDs nearly every week lately. Dallas Clark has made the most of his 33 receptions with 6 TDs, but has been a bit banged up lately. Chris Cooley also has 6 TDs for the Skins and will look to be even more involved down the stretch.
COLD - There are many productive and available tight ends...thus no reason for fantasy owners to have these underachieving TEs on their roster.
