Scouting Report: CJ Brooks

After being the doormat of the ACC along with Duke, the University of Maryland has had a pair of very successful campaigns and as a result, are putting more talent into the draft. A highly rated offensive lineman that will come out of this program in the next year or so would be tackle/guard CJ Brook, an athletic and versatile blocker.

Scouting Report:

The Good:  Terrific athlete with an abundant amount of upside potential for the next level.  Fluid, moves well and effective at the line, in space or on the second level.  Bends his knees, sets with a wide base and plays with leverage.  Strong at the point of attack, jolts defenders and gets movement from his run blocks.  Light on his feet and displays good adjustment to the action.

The Bad: Not quick or alert, loses a sense of where he is on the field and must learn to use blocking angles and body positioning.

The Skinny:  Needs to mentally grow into the position and have his smarts catch up with the physical skills he possesses.
