NFL Quarterback Power Rankings

Houston's Matt Schaub is one of the top movers in this week's QB Power Rankings. Find out who is number one and where your favorite signal-caller ranks as's Ed Thompson provides his updated rankings heading into today's Week 9 action.

Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner held onto the number one spot for the second consecutive week after putting up big numbers during a losing cause against the Panthers. Meanwhile, Houston's Matt Schaub has moved into the top five with another strong performance and Washington's Jason Campbell is back in the top ten. The two quarterbacks who took the biggest tumbles in this week's rankings were Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger and Tampa Bay's Jeff Garcia.

Rankings are based on a weighted formula that includes factors such as completion average, touchdowns, interceptions, percent of passes that result in a first down, yards per game and more.

1. Kurt Warner, Cardinals 
YPG: 298.4   PR: 102.1  TD: 14 
Comp: 70.2   1st: 40.5    INT: 6 
He passed for 381 yards and 2 TDs last week. Warner's the only QB with a 70-percent completion rate.

2. Drew Brees, Saints
YPG: 320.4   PR: 101.6 TD: 15 
Comp: 69.1   1st: 35.2    INT: 7
Brees had a hot hand against San Diego, throwing for 339 yards and 3 TDs last week in London.

3. Philip Rivers, Chargers
YPG: 254.8   PR: 107.8   TD: 19

Still the league-leader in TD passes, Rivers' Chargers lost despite his 341 passing yards against the Saints.

4. Tony Romo, Cowboys

Romo will miss this weekend's big game against the Giants. His injury has caused him to lose some ground.

5. Matt Schaub, Texans

Schaub's one of the fastest-rising QBs in recent weeks. He threw three more TD passes last week.

6. Chad Pennington, Dolphins

He's on a roll.  He posted his first 300-yard game  last week while completing 73 percent of his throws.

7. Jay Cutler, Broncos

Cutler will try to get his offense rolling against Miami this weekend. Denver had a bye last week.

8. Jason Campbell, Redskins

He completed 82 percent of his passes for 328 yards and one TD last week.

9. Aaron Rodgers, Packers

Rodgers lost some ground during his bye week. He'll work against a stout Titans defense this week.

10. Donovan McNabb, Eagles

His 55.9-percent completion rate last week was decent, but was a season-low.for him. 

11. Brett Favre, Jets

Tied for second in the NFL with 15 TD passes, Favre's also tied for the highest number of interceptions.

12. Kyle Orton, Bears

Orton, who has been moving up in the rankings, had a bye last week. The Bears host the Lions.

He completed 60-percent of his throws against the Dolphins, but his 67.2 passer rating was a season-low.

14. Eli Manning, Giants

He managed 199 passing yards against a tough Steelers defense last week. The Cowboys are up next.

15. David Garrard, Jaguars

His 283 passing yards were a season-best. He also tossed two TD passes for the first time in '08.

16. Jake Delhomme, Panthers
