Comments: The Buccaneers appear to be doing it with mirrors this season. Offensively both Jeff Garcia and Brian Griese have started and played relatively well. The running game minus Cadillic Williams, figured to stumble badly, but Earnest Graham, Michael Bennett and Warrick Dunn, figuratively back from the dead, have all stepped up and played exceptionally well. Former Cowboys, 49ers and Browns receiver Antonio Bryant has really come on and made a major contribution. Rookie Jeremy Zuttah, has a chance of becoming one of the very best at the offensive guard position within the league.
Defensively the Buccaneers have some age, but with that comes a world of experience. Linebackers Barrett Ruud and veteran Derrick Brooks are excellent football player and play makers.
Gruden has his detractors, but has done a more than adequate job of hanging in there. Bruce Allen, the son of legendary coach George Allen and former agent, has a broad scouting background, first with the USFL and later with Oakland Raiders.
This club can ill afford another major injury to key personnel in the second half of the season and realistically hope to capture their second straight division title.
