Bengals, Jaguars to Coach Senior Bowl Squads

When the top senior collegiate players gather in Mobile, Alabama for Senior Bowl week on January 18, they'll take direction from the coaches of the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars have been selected as the two coaching staffs for the 2009 Under Armour Senior Bowl, officials announced Monday.

The premier college all-star event for the top senior collegiate football players is scheduled for January 24th at 7 p.m. (ET) in Mobile, Alabama at Ladd-Peebles Stadium and will be televised by the NFL Network.

The Jaguars will coach the South squad, marking the first time that Jacksonville has coached one of the Senior Bowl squads.

"My coaching staff and I are looking forward to working with the players in Mobile and coaching the Senior Bowl," Jaguars head coach jack Del Rio said.

"This is a good opportunity for our staff to become very familiar with each player and see how they work throughout the week. I'm also looking forward to seeing Marvin Lewis and coaching against the Bengals staff. We expect it to be a busy and productive week."

The Bengals coaching staff returns to Mobile for the second time after leading the North squad in 2004.

"Coaching in the Senior Bowl was very valuable to us in 2004, and we are excited to once again have this opportunity," Cincinnati head coach Marvin Lewis said.
