Washington Redskins Free Agent Confidential

Unless there is some significant dollars given back or several mid to upper level players released prior to the April college draft, the Redskins will be virtually spectators for the annual event.

Comments - Not counting long snapper Ethan Albright who re-signed earlier this month, the Redskins have only one starters among the eight unrestricted free agents. Overall there are must have players on the list, but the Skins would be wise to resign left guard Pete Kendall, young linebacker Alfred Fincher who performed well on special teams after being signed prior to the start of training camp and cap room permitting, possibly DeAngelo Hall, the talented but narcissistic corner who has already worn out his welcome with the Falcons and Raiders. I would normally not recommend putting money into thirty something offensive linemen, but given the Redskins lack of depth in the offensive interior, I wouldn't go crazy, but would certainly bring him back for at least one more season at the right price.. Hall on the other hand scares me; he played well for the Skins, but once he feels comfortable with his surroundings in Atlanta and signed an extension in Oakland, he quickly because a "me" guy. Given their current cap situation, it might well be a moot point, but I would be hesitant about putting too much money in this particular players' pocket. The rest of the group are just guys with little or no chance to impact within the league.
