NFL Draft Buzz: Another Visit For Alex Mack

Everyone knows that the Steelers won a Super Bowl Championship despite their offensive line struggles last season.'s Ed Thompson has learned that the team is taking a look at Cal center Alex Mack, one of the top talents in this year's NFL Draft.

A source has told that Alex Mack,'s top-ranked center in this year's draft class, has a visit scheduled with the Pittsburgh Steelers for April 5–6.

The 6-foot-4, 303-pound offensive lineman has already been busy with team visits and workouts, as previously reported by A first-round talent, Mack has captured the attention of NFL teams with his aggressive nature, excellent technique and overall intelligence both on and off the field.

At the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Mack told the media that he thought his experience as wrestler has been helpful to his football career.

"Wrestling is a tough sport and it's one-on-one, you versus another guy. So it teaches you that hard work, whatever you put into it, is going
to come out on the wrestling mat," he explained.  "So if you lose, you can only blame yourself. It taught me how to work hard, how to do certain things. It taught me how to be mean...I think."

Well, if it wasn't the wrestling, something certainly did.

Mack has a broad, good-natured smile and an upbeat, outgoing personality off the field. But on the field, he's as fierce as they come. He's a first-round talent who can flat-out maul his opponent or use his intelligence and technique to gain an advantage.
