After a successful debut on Tuesday, April 7th, Scout NFL Radio, hosted by Scout.com’s Chris Steuber, has an exciting second show lined up for this Tuesday. The April 14th show will be a special three-hour broadcast, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. EST, and will feature two of the drafts top prospects.
Sanchez will appear on Scout NFL Radio and call in during the 6 o'clock hour.
USC QB Mark Sanchez will join Steuber during the 6 o’clock hour and will discuss his whirlwind offseason. And, Baylor OT Jason Smith will be on in the 7 o’clock hour and will talk about his ascension as the premier tackle in the draft. Another top prospect may join Steuber during the final hour of the show, but confirmation has yet to be set.
In addition to the premier talent appearing on the show, some of Scout.com’s outstanding publishers will also join the program. Nick Athan from WarPaintIllustrated.com will talk about the Chiefs draft plans at 6:45 p.m., Barry McBride from OrangeandBrown.com puts the Browns on the clock at 7:40 p.m. and Bill Huber from PackerReport.com tells us what direction Green Bay will go in at 8:35 p.m.
Scout.com’s No. 1 rated quarterback and 5th overall prospect in the 2009 draft rankings; Sanchez is an intelligent, physically gifted signal caller who dissects a defense with his awareness. He gets good depth on his drops, sets up quickly in the pocket and has a smooth delivery in which he releases a soft, catchable ball. He completes intermediate routes with precision and displays great touch on vertical throws. He plays with a swagger and possesses the “it” factor it takes to succeed. He’s a tough competitor who’s played through injuries, but his lack of experience (16 career starts) is a cause of concern.
Scout.com’s No. 1 rated offensive tackle and 2nd overall prospect in the 2009 draft rankings; Smith is an athletic tackle who possesses excellent quickness. He has a great frame and still has room to grow physically and technically, but has the potential to be dominant. He moves well laterally and gets to the second level with ease. He’s aware of his surroundings, works well with others and is quick picking up blitzes. He plays with a high motor and a great passion for the game.If you missed the debut broadcast of Scout NFL Radio on April 7th, click here for the Podcast.
