San Diego Chargers Final Draft Report Card

Cornerback Antoine Cason played well in a back up role as a rookie, but I just don't think he has a lot of juice. Wide body tackle Corey Clark and FB Jacob Hester are tough, try hard guys, but neither has the skill set to become top professionals. A very unremarkable 2008 draft overall.

Larry English has a chance to become an outstanding edge rusher while Canadian 3rd round selection Vaughn Martin is green as grass, but has rare physical skills (check out his humorous you tube workout). Speaking of Green, I was disappointed in the play of Auburn's Tyronne Green in 08. Gartrell Johnson, is tough, strong and physical back, but lacks the top speed to run away from folks. Brandon Hughes is an athletic corner with speed, but he's not particularly strong, has limited ball skills and has played virtually his entire career at the press corner position. I like all other fans are rooting for LSU's Demetrious Byrd to make a complete and speed recovery from the injuries sustained in an automobile accident just prior to this year's player draft.
