Strengths: Robinson has the size/speed combination that scouts desire and the potential to be a shutdown corner at the next level. He has great agility, transitions well with receivers and closes fast on the ball. He’s instinctive and diagnoses the action well. He is a true playmaker and a player quarterbacks avoid throwing towards. He’s willing to defend against the run and make open field tackles when needed. He’s a quality option on special teams, as he has experience as a return specialist and on coverage teams.
Weaknesses: He’s not an overly physical defender and has to improve his tackling technique. He lacks focus and concentration.Steuber Says: In his two-plus years with Florida State, Robinson had flashes of brilliance and moments of inconsistency; that’s the story of his career. As a sophomore, he recorded six interceptions, and since that time, he’s only amassed one. One interception in two years isn’t good enough, but Robinson has superior cover skills, and that ability will ultimately make him a first round selection.
