Strengths: Iupati is a massive, physical lineman who mauls the opposition at the line of scrimmage. He has great size, strength and surprising athleticism. He explodes off the snap, delivers a violent punch and excels as a run blocker. He sets with a wide base, is a natural knee bender and uses his long arms to keep defenders at bay. He plays the game with intensity and passion, and has a strong work ethic. He offers a team versatility on the offensive line and can play inside or outside.
Weaknesses: He’s still developing as a player, and considering his size and athleticism, that’s scary. But with that said, he has to work on his technique and not rely solely on his strength. He has to work on his footwork and work better with his teammates. He didn’t play in a premier conference against top competition, and while he was dominant at times, he struggled to standout.Steuber Says: The premier interior offensive lineman in the draft, Iupati was a three-year starter at Idaho and progressed each year. Scouts are enthusiastic about his ability and believe he can play OT or OG. The versatility that he presents makes him valuable and in turn a possible first round selection.
