Strengths: Dixon is a durable, punishing ball carrier who can handle a heavy work load and carry a team on his back. He’s a very strong runner who breaks many tackles during a single run. He’s aggressive and gains a lot of yards off of initial contact. He displays good vision and patience, and is able to pick his spots before bursting through the hole. He has quick feet and fluid hips, which allow him to be effective in space. He has good hands and is an option out of the backfield. He’s a willing blocker and uses his strength to his advantage.

Weaknesses: He’s not explosive, but is extremely powerful which allows him to be successful. He doesn’t elude many defenders and takes a pounding. He’s not a smooth ball carrier and doesn’t move the ball to his outside hand. He’s a lazy blocker and has to develop his technique.

Steuber Says: A four-year starter for Mississippi State, Dixon has been productive despite not having a premier talent around him. He’s the Bulldogs all-time leading rusher and posted a career-high 1,391 rushing yards in 2009. He’s had off the field issues, but they appear to be in his past. He has the ability to be a featured back at the next level and should be an immediate contributor in 2010. Dixon will receive 2nd – 3rd round consideration.
