Senior Bowl Q&A: Syd'Quan Thompson

After spending nearly 10 minutes with a representative from the Washington Redskins, Scout.com's Chris Steuber briefly spoke to California cornerback Syd'Quan Thompson following the first day of practice in Mobile.

Chris Steuber: I know you just finished up your first practice, but what wide receiver presented the biggest challenge to you?

Thompson has great playmaking ability and is hoping that scouts notice him this week in Mobile.

Syd’Quan Thompson: I’m not sure, they’re all pretty good. It was a challenge going up against all of them. I’m just worried about my responsibilities on the field, and if I do that I will have success.

CS: This week is all about showcasing yourself to NFL teams on and off the field. I noticed that you just spoke with a Washington Redskins representative. What other teams have you met with so far and did any team show more interest than another?

Thompson: A lot of teams have shown interest. Being here, everyone comes up to you and asks questions. They want to know everything about you.

CS: What do they ask you?

Thompson: They just do a background check, general stuff.

CS: What aspect of your game are you trying to improve on this week?

Thompson: I’m just trying to show the scouts that I can play with the top athletes in the country. It’s all about coming out here and displaying my skills; I just have to compete. This is a job interview and you have to approach it like that. But the main thing is to compete, have fun and hopefully there are some eyes watching me.
