Senior Bowl Q&A: Dan LeFevour

Central Michigan quarterback Dan LeFevour stood out during the first day of practice in Mobile, and's Chris Steuber caught up with him. Find out what NFL teams LeFevour has met with so far inside...

Chris Steuber: How are you enjoying the Senior Bowl experience so far?

LeFevour knows that he has to improve his mechanics; it all starts under center.

Dan LeFevour: It’s a great experience. It’s a lot of fun to go up against the best, put up a challenge and see how you compare with the top players in the country.

CS: What aspect of your game are you trying to improve on this week?

LeFevour: It all starts with taking snaps under center and everything that goes along with that. I want to improve my footwork and release, as I work under center. I’m pretty sure everyone wants to see how I transition to that.

CS: Entering this week, the biggest knock against you was your arm strength and your ability to throw to the outside. I’m sure you hear that criticism all the time, but what can you do mechanically that will improve your velocity?

LeFevour: [Laughs]. I feel like I’m repeating myself, but it’s the fundamentals of playing quarterback. It’s about rhythm, timing and footwork, and if you straighten those things out everything becomes much clearer.

CS: I know you’ve only been in Mobile for a short time, but I’m sure you’ve had a chance to meet with some NFL teams. What teams have you met with and did any team show more interest than another?

LeFevour: It’s so far away from the actual draft, so it’s hard to say if there’s a team showing great interest in me. So far, I’ve only met with the Redskins, Lions, Dolphins and Broncos; it’s kind of been a whirlwind.

CS: Speaking of NFL teams, was there a team that you always wanted to play for growing up?

LeFevour: I grew up 30 minutes outside of Chicago and I was a Bears fan. I had a bunch of Walter Payton gear in my room. But I don’t think being a Bears fan will amount to much at this point, since they have Jay Cutler.
