Cook's size and athleticism could translate well to safety.
Virginia Athletics

Strengths: Cook is a well-built cornerback who has great upside. He has fluid hips and transitions well in coverage. He’s physical throughout his coverage and uses his frame to box out the opposition. He does a great job of reading receivers and quickly breaks on the pass. He has soft hands and is always a threat to create a turnover. He’s instinctive and has a good burst up field to help against the run; he’s not afraid of contact.

Weaknesses: He’s physical, but allows the opposition to get a clean release off the line too often. He’s not smooth in his backpedal and is indecisive in coverage. He has to wrap up better when tackling.

Steuber Says: Cook didn’t play during the 2008 season, because he was academically ineligible. But, he bounced back and had a solid showing in 2009. He played in all 12 games and recorded 40 tackles and four interceptions. He has the size that scouts desire from a corner and he will match up well with tall receivers. In a deep cornerback class, Cook is a wildcard and could be a steal.
