Troy Athletics

Strengths: Lang is a tremendously athletic defender who has great upside as a pass rusher. He's quick off the snap, displays an explosive burst and uses his hands well coming off the edge. He has good balance and plays with leverage; he has excellent footwork. He plays with a high motor and possesses fluid hips, which allow him to transition in pursuit. He's versatile and can adapt to various defensive schemes.

Weaknesses: He’s undersized and lacks overall strength. He has trouble getting off blocks and doesn’t play up to his potential against the run. He didn’t line up against top competition and struggled with his consistency. Durability is an issue.

Steuber Says: A three-year starter at Troy, Lang is in the mold of former Trojans standout defensive stars Osi Umenyiora and DeMarcus Ware. Just like Umenyiora and Ware, Lang is undersized, but has a similar skill set. Lang is effective off the edge and can create problems in the backfield for the opposition. Over the last two years, he’s recorded 19 sacks and has the potential to get even better.
