Pre-Draft Team Needs: Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons put two winning seasons together for the first time in franchise history. However, they need to sure up a few positions on both sides of the ball in order to get back to the playoffs.

Players Added

Dan Klecko/DT - He's not a bad fourth interior defensive lineman.

Dunta Robinson/CB - Robinson finally gives the Falcons a top-shelf cornerback.

Matt Giordano/S - He'll see most of his time on special teams.

Players Lost

Verron Haynes/RB - He signed mid-way last season with Atlanta and played FB and RB.

Aaron Stecker/RB - The veteran back may retire.

Marty Booker/WR - The journeyman receiver appeared in all 16 games last season for the Falcons. He fits in as a third receiver at this point in his career.

Tony Gilbert/LB - He appeared in 12 games last season for the Falcons playing mostly on special teams.

Jamaal Fudge/S - Fudge only appeared in two games for the Falcons last season and wasn't tendered as a restricted free agent.

Antoine Harris/S - He only saw time on special teams last season for the Falcons. He wasn't tendered as a restricted free agent.

Charlie Peprah/S - He wasn't tendered as a restricted free agent, so Peprah is free to sign with any team and the Falcons wouldn't receive any compensation back in return.

Chris Houston/CB - He was traded to the Lions. Houston is a solid No. 2 cornerback, but isn't of the caliber of Robinson.

Tye Hill/CB - The former first-round pick of the Rams didn't contribute much during his short time with the Falcons.

Pre-Draft Team Needs

Defensive End - Former first-round pick Jamaal Anderson hasn't worked out at all as a pass rusher, so the team needs to address that position. Veteran DE John Abraham turns 32 next month.

Cornerback - Despite the signing of Robinson, the team really lacks another proven cover player in their secondary.

Other Issues to Address

Guard Depth

Offensive Tackle Depth
